This agreement is between Feminist Enterprises LLC/Sarah Rainey-Smithback (Instructor), the additional instructors who may be conducting classes and the individual below (the participant).
I, [the participant named below], agree to the following:
Risk
I understand that my participation in a fitness class or program may involve risk, including, but not limited to sprains, pulled muscles, aches, pains and overall general soreness. I also understand that any instruction provided is intended only to guide me in proper form and technique. I understand there is no supervision of my workouts provided, and it is my responsibility to monitor my own intensity levels and choices on the appropriate level of activity based on my physical health.
Health
I understand that any questions concerning my ability to participate should be discussed with my physician. I am in good health and I have informed my doctor of starting this fitness program and have been cleared to participate. I do not have any medical conditions that may interfere with my use of the facility and participation in this fitness/dance class. I have been advised to seek competent medical advice before I follow any regiment of exercise.
Liability Is Belongs To Participant
I knowingly, voluntarily and expressively waive any claim or liability I may have against Feminist Fitness instructors, programs, or facilities for damages and/or injury, including death, resulting from my participation.
Sexualization
I understand that the songs and moves in Feminist Fitness may include explicit language and sexual themes that may be offensive to some people. The intent is not to sexualize or objectify instructors and/or participants, but to take-back and empower by celebrating sexuality and encouraging everyone to challenge preconceived notions of beauty, movement, fitness, and sexuality.
Compassion, Grace, Body-Neutrality
I will come to Feminist Fitness with an open, nonjudgemental attitude about fitness, health, and bodies. I understand these are very personal and political issues that we work on together through movement and community building. The Instructors are not professional dancers with “perfect” bodies reflecting the radically inclusive, body-neutral ethics of Feminist Fitness. I will extend grace and compassion and body-neutrality to my instructions, my co-participants, and myself.
