The "fitness industrial complex" works to convince us that we must look a certain way to feel good. But, you can feel good in whatever body you're in. You have the right to exercise, to find strength, and tap into the emotional flow and release movement brings. So, take up space! Come exercise with me!
Empowering Music

I curate the music to promote women, gender diverse, and feminist musicians, especially those that are operating outside the mainstream music industry. Each class includes popular favorites, but I feature musicians that are not "big stars," and I center the work of women of color. I want to draw attention to the amazing and prolific work of the people on the margins making innovative and empowering music. It is my sincere pleasure to bring it to you!
Fall In Love With Your Body

I incorporate movement and sound designed to bring more pleasure, including sexual pleasure and acceptance. So, we shake our butts in class (twerking encouraged!) and much of music is about women's sexual self-empowerment.
Exercise can improve your confidence and how you feel in your body, which often translates to better sex and sexual self-esteem.
What is "Feminist Cardio Drumming?"
Cardio drumming is a full-body workout that combines drumming, rhythm, and music to exercise your cardiovascular system. My "feminist" version of cardio drumming is a "body-neutral" approach that centers empowering music by women and gender diverse artists.
Classes are typically 50-60 minutes, which is about 11-12 songs. There are quick breaks between songs so you can grab a some water and catch your breath. I selects a variety of songs (and is always open to suggestions!), but most are in the pop, hip hop, and punk genres. As a cardio focused exercise, you will be moving your body the whole song, following along with the moves and drum beats.
Feminist Cardio Drumming is appropriate for ALL bodies and fitness levels--I can provide modifications to increase the intensity or adapt moves to your body. No experience or rhythm necessary (seriously, it is just about having fun and moving)! No equipment necessary! Just show up in comfortable clothes, bring some water, and get ready to have some fun!
